OPEN CALL – We’re delighted to announce the winners from our final theme of this edition, judged by Alison Morley – Chair of the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Program at the world-renowned International Center of Photography in New York.

Honorary Mention by Henriette van Gasteren (@lilith_photographer).

She says of it – “Recurring themes in my work include identity, gender roles, freedom, equality, religion and the positive and negative aspects of human experience. My work is sometimes humorous, often sensual, frequently confrontational and always original and insightful. With my photography of other people I also intend to make people think about society.”

Editor’s comment – “Shot with a technical excellence, this is a captivating environmental portrait of Henriette’s subject – the sculptor perhaps? – sat nude amongst these striking wooden carvings. Nude and vulnerable, he sits eyes closed and still, seemingly lost in thought and in harmony with the figures that surround him. It’s a privileged, intimate view into his world – one not without substantial challenge no doubt – and feels like a celebration of his disability and the body in its innumerable forms.” – Life Framer
